About Us
In 1991, William Shipley and Janet Chennault discussed the current state of laboratory information system technology and found it similar to that of the typesetting industry in 1980. Seeing an opportunity to establish the next generation of laboratory systems, they built on the graphical interface and networking William had developed for typesetting systems to create SchuyLab, the first commercially available graphical LIS based on standard PC technology and operating systems: both inexpensive and easy to use.
Over the following fifteen years, Schuyler House expanded geographically from its modest Southern California beginnings to include installations across the United States, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Rim. In addition, product expansion into Internet and EMR software brought the company to the front of medical software development.
