Schuyler House produces a full-featured suite of medical information systems for the laboratory and clinical practice. Our users include physician offices and their associated laboratories, large-scale reference labs with hundreds of clients, and hospitals. All our products feature powerful, intuitive graphical user interfaces that combine an easy learning curve with a streamlined workflow. This graphical interface allows experienced users to perform tasks quickly and efficiently, and minimizes training time for new users.

To meet the needs of a wide variety of laboratories, SchuyLab is offered in two major versions: Streamlined and Pro.

 STREAMLINED

The Streamlined version is designed for the small, single station, laboratory.  It supports one station and one printer.  It can have multiple instruments, connect to an EMR and provide all the features that a typical POL or small Hospital would need.  It avoids some of the complexities of multiple stations, and multiple printers, and offers pre-programmed report formats.  It represents a low-cost way to computerize your laboratory without limiting your future growth potential – you always have the option of upgrading to the full system without any loss of your investment.

 The streamlined version of SchuyLab is distributed as three separate products: Basic, SLIM, and Lite.

 Basic

 Basic is a streamlined version of SchuyLab with no instruments or EMRs interfaced.  It allows the laboratory to produce a consolidated report, store a virtually unlimited amount of patient history, track quality control, and produce usage reports.  If your volume is low enough that you can manually enter your results, SchuyLab/Basic will meet your needs – or you can use it until you are ready to upgrade.  The best thing about the Basic version is that it’s FREE.  We think that, after using SchuyLab/Basic, many labs will want to upgrade. 

 For those who remain satisfied with the capabilities of Basic, it is our gift to the industry – no one should be without a system to manage their data.

 SLIM (SchuyLab/IM)

 SLIM (SchuyLab/IM) acts as an instrument manager.  It provides all the capabilities of Basic with the addition of a single analyzer interface.  This by no means limits your testing to that instrument – the ability to enter results manually remains.

 Lite (SchuyLab/Lite)

 Lite (SchuyLab/Lite) can support multiple instruments as well as interface to your EMR or HIS.  While there is no particular limit to the number of instruments you can interface to SchuyLab/Lite, once a laboratory goes beyond three or four, it usually becomes necessary to think of extra stations, more printers etc., which requires an upgrade to the full featured SchyLab/Pro version.

 There are a number of features available on the SLIM and Lite versions which can add specialized capabilities to meet your needs.

 PRO

Beyond the streamlined versions, there is the SchuyLab/Pro version which expands the customization capabilities and allows the lab to add as many stations as desired with multiple printer and provides the client support necessary for reference labs.  SchuyLab/Pro is our ‘big lab’ product and can support systems with dozens of stations processing thousands of samples per night.  You can add billing to provide integrated electronic billing and payment posting, as well as having the tools to manage a large client base. 

 It also supports SchuyNet which provides your customers direct web access to your data on your site, not through a third-party.
